Trial Policy

If you are unsure if the Breakers Swim Team is the right fit for you and your child, there are 2 trial options available.

The 1 day trial program;
Cost is $5.  One day trials can only be issued once per child, and can only be if they have not been previously registered with BCSSA.   Once the trial BCSSA form is completely filled out, the Care Card has been witnessed by the registrar (or their designate), and the trial (non refundable) fee paid, then the child may enter the water with our team for a trial day.

The 5 day trial program;
This option is for if you already have been registered within BCSSA.  For this option you must fill out the regular yearly BCSSA insurance papers, cost for insurance is $40 (non refundable).  This option entitles you up to a 5 day trial within a 7 day period, excluding Breakers (Pain) Week.  Your BCSSA full insurance is valid from May- April.

The trial periods are valid only for time period allotted and does not permit swimmers to participate in any further club activities or swim meets unless full CVB Team registration is paid in full.  

Refund Policy

Refunds excluding BCSSA insurance portion of your registration will be only be considered within 7 days from a session start date, if the following conditions have been met;

• The swimmer has not yet “dipped their toes in” or entered the water.
• The swimmer has not participated in any part of the program session.
• The Treasurer has received in writing or by email, a request to withdraw from the program within the 7 day period. 
• No Exceptions!

If the withdrawal is due to a medical reason, and less than half the session has been swum, a prorated credit will be given towards the next swimming session, as calculated by the Treasurer.  The Treasurer must receive the request in writing or by email, which must be followed by a doctor’s note for the registered swimmer.
