Parent Expectations

The CV Breakers is a non-profit organization that depends on volunteers.  As such, the support and participation of parents is crucial to its success.  Swimming fees are highly subsidized and fundraising is an ongoing process, both to maintain affordable fees and to validate access to Gaming Funds.
It is expected that parents/guardians will:

    • Behave respectfully; responsibly, courteously and safely at all swim practices, swim meets, and Team events.
    • Speak to coaches before or after swim practice times, do not talk to coaches during swim practice, coaches are available 15mins before and 15mins after practice for this purpose.
    • Communicate with coaches regarding their children’s program and progress.
    • Be responsible for your swimmer from the time before they go on deck and the time they are finished in the water. This includes change rooms.
    • Support swimmers and coaches in their endeavors.
    • If problems arise, communicate with coaches and/or someone on the Executive, to expedite a satisfactory solution.
    • Volunteer at any swim meets that you attend.
    • Stay at swim meets for relays if they have indicated that their children will participate in them.
    • Participate in Team fundraising events.
    • Pay all Team fees in a timely manner.
    • Sign all appropriate registration, society membership, media release, and code of conduct, swim meet entry forms at the appropriate times.
    • Attend the Annual General Meeting, held in August, and any other Society meetings, if called.
    • Offer any suggestions or comments regarding any aspect of the Team and its operation, by email or in the Team drop box.  Also, please fill out feedback/survey forms online from this website or drop them in Team drop box.  The club drop box is located in the Aquatic Center gift shop, clearly marked CV Breakers.
