We are pleased to announce our 2010 Summer Season Coaching Staff

Bob Hedley
 
Bob’s coaching career has spanned decades and now he finds himself as the Head Coach for the CV Breakers. His service in the military permitted him to coach all across the country and in Germany as well. Bob brings many years of experience with him and in addition to being the Head Coach, Bob’s main coaching responsibility will be the Development, Fitness & Skills Group.
   
   
 
Jennika Efford  
Jennika is currently a member of the UBC Thunderbird Varsity Swim Team and is a Nationally ranked swimmer specializing in Freestyle (200M, 400M & 800M). Prior to joining the Breakers, Jennika was coaching with the Pacific Dolphin Swim Association as well as swimming on the UBC team.  Jennika’s main responsibility will be the Senior/Senior Intermediate Group.
   
   
 
Christopher Lewis  

Christopher holds his NCCP Teacher certification as well as his “Sears I Can Swim Teacher Certificate”. He has been trained in the NCCP FUNdamentals.  He has been a part of the Breakers since summer of 2004, both as a swimmer and a CIT.  Christopher qualified for Provincial Championships in 2008 for his breaststroke and relays.  Christopher has been coaching since Winter Maintenance 2008. Christopher’s main responsibility will be with the Junior Intermediate/Junior Group.

   
   
 
Taylor Townsend  

Taylor is currently swimming with the Breakers and assisting Bob with the Development, Fitness & Skills Group. Taylor joined the Breakers in 2004 and qualified for the Provincial Championships in 2008 in the 50 Butterfly.

   
 
 
Missy    Haeley   

During the 2010 Summer Season, the Coaches will be assisted by Missy, Haeley and Deryn who in addition to training and competing will also be fulfilling the role of Coach-in-training (CIT). 

The role of CIT's is to learn the skills of coaching by teaching  swimmers the proper stroke technique either by assisting the coach, or leading their own group under a coaches supervision.  CIT's may also be asked to demonstrate the proper technique for visual effect for swimmers and/or assisting new swimmers in their 25m races at swim meet competitions throughout the summer season.
